Fiji is a beautiful and welcoming tropical oasis. Perfect for families as it is safe, fun and perfectly suited for divers. I have chosen Castaway Island for our Kids Sea Camp, as it gives the feel of a lost village, a "Robinson Caruso Castaway" if you will - taking you back in time while surrounding you with a true tropical oasis, impeccable service, and a warm welcome.

Castaway Island sits south of the mainland and is reachable by sea plane, South Seas Cruises or helicopter, surrounded by beautiful white sand beach and fish filled reefs.

You will depart LAX Airport on Nov 20th, a direct non-stop on Air Pacific FJ flight # 811 departing at 10:30pm. You should plan to be at the airport by 7:30pm at the latest. The flight to Nadi Airport in Fiji, approximately 10 hrs, 45 minutes flying time. Fiji is 5 hours + 1 day ahead of PST. You will enjoy overnight service on Air Pacific. We have requested seats together as a group for Kids Sea Camp, which will allow many of the kids to meet and greet during the flight. Individual TV screens are provided with each seat, offering games and children's movies. Air Pacific allows 2 check-in pieces per passenger at 40 lbs each piece and one carry on per passenger Carry on luggage is very small as overhead bins are small. Check with your Local carriers as domestic flights to LAX may differ if baggage allowances.

We will be met upon arrival in Fiji at Nadi Airport after we pass through immigration and customs arrival is at 6:15AM, Fiji time. Dinner and Breakfast is served on the flight, however, we will have coffee and juice and some fruit as well on arrival prior to our transfer to South Seas Cruises Catamaran. Departure for transfer is 9:30. This is approximately a 2.5 hour trip to Castaway Island.

At Castaway Island You will be met with a traditional Fiji welcome, music and welcome beverage. Castaway Island has 3 types of air-conditioned accommodations to choose from • The Island Bure is tucked away in a beautiful tropical garden settings, shaded by coconut palms and close to the pool. These Bure have a king size bed with 2 twin beds. • The Ocean View Bure are just set back off the beach with an Ocean breeze and view. 1 King Bed with 2 twin beds in 2 rooms. • The Ocean Front Bure offers a separated room with sliding door, 1 king bed and 2 twin beds, with the white sand at your feet Also in 2 rooms. All Bures are eloquently designed to recreate the ambiance of a traditional Fiji Village. Ceilings are High v-shape with beautiful handmade tapestry. Fresh towels are provided daily. All Bures have private patios, and ceiling fans as well as additional floor fans if needed. All Bures are cooled by natural ocean breezes and air-conditioning if preferred.

There are no telephones, televisions, or fax machines etc., in the Bures. This resort is designed to give you rest and relaxation. For those of us that cannot live without, you can bring your portable DVD player and your movies. There is a business office open from 6AM to midnight , that you can use with DSL and a computer etc., if necessary. Just remember this is your family vacation and this resort was designed to keep the everyday noises away. You will grow accustomed to the sound of the wind and the ocean at night and early morning.

Temperatures are in the high 80's (Fahrenheit) during the day, but cool to mid 72-75F at night. Cool breezes blow daily, occasional tropical showers should be expected.

3 Meals Daily are Included in Your Package. Beverages not included. Breakfast is served buffet style each morning, eggs made to order, ham, potatoes, pancakes, fruits and cereal, along with local juices. 7AM -10AM. Lunch is off the menu with a wide variety of foods from burgers to salads, pasta or fish. A special kids menu is also available from 10AM-5PM. Sundowner Bar and Pizza is open 11AM -10PM daily. Dinner is also served off the menu with fresh daily seafood. Dinner is from 6:30PM - 10PM daily. Saturday is the Fiji BBQ. Daily entertainment is provided at lunch and dinner. Castaway Island Resort enjoys a cashless system. All activities, gift shop items, tours, drinks etc., can all be signed for.

Your diving is arranged for 2 dives daily each morning, 1-tank dive 8:30AM and 1-tank dive at 11AM. The dive shop does offer a 3rd dive at 2PM that you can arrange to add on or switch out. 1 night dive is also included in your package, during the Pizza Movie Night for the kids.

Kids Sea Camp activities are from 8:30AM - 2PM daily, where kids are participating in PADI,Open Water Diver, Seal Team, SASY snorkel program and ocean discovery for already certified kids. These are fun educational activities, Fiji Kids Sea Camp will also feature Special Guest, Ron Rogest www.rogest.com our VIP guest Artist. Ron will be conducting a wonderful Marine Art workshop with the kids.

Childcare options: Castaway offers a free child care program, for kids ages 1-12 with some land activities such as painting etc., from 9AM – 4PM and 6:30PM – 9PM. This is free of charge and is not part of the Kids Sea Camp educational program. It is a Castaway activity center non-marine program.

Dive Team Castaway is a PADI 5 STAR facility, so all specialties and additional training are available and can be arranged with Waz and Ellie, the dive shop managers. Scuba gear is included for all Kids Sea Camp Kids. Adult Rental Gear is available if Pre-reserved, so let us know ASAP if you need gear.

We will have everyone check-in at the dive shop after they get settled into their rooms and orientation will begin Saturday evening in the Pizza Loft just about 5PM. The first day's activities will begin on Sunday Morning 8:30AM. The dive shop has a full range of dive gear, computers and digital camera rental available.

Again, kids gear is provided with the kids programs. Adults should bring their dive gear. Please let us know if you will need to rent gear. Dive Team Castaway can provide, wet suits, BCDS, regulators and Aladin dive computers. Water temperature ranges between 79F and 90F.

Dive sites are only 10-20 minutes by boat. You can expect to see plenty of clown fish, rays, turtles, Lionfish, Barracuda, Anemone's, Sailfish, Surgeonfish, Midnight Snappers, Sweetlips, Morish Idols and so much more. Not to mention our beautiful Blue Starfish. There is no nitrox available.

The gift shop sells t-shirts, hats, toiletries, batteries, sunblock, ice cream bars, and souvenirs.

Castaway also has its own 24hr clinic and nurse if needed.

There is a no tipping policy at Castaway Island Resort, however there is a box at the front desk which donations are accepted and is saved up through the year and then given to the entire resort staff at the end of the year at holiday time.

Check out is on the 29th at 10am, a few rooms will be set aside as day rooms if needed before our departure to the aiport. We will depart on the 3PM boat for Nadi, arrival at 5:30PM. We will be met at the dock and taken to the Fiji Airport, You can also arrange to depart earlier for NAdi and hire a TAXI to take you (10 min) into town for a few hours of shopping and last minute souvenirs before we head to the airport. Check in time should be 7:45 for our return flight on FJ flight #810 at 11:50pm with arrival in LAX at 1:05pm on Nov 29th.

For those that have purchased tickets through Kids Sea Camp on Air Pacific, we will handle all seating and flight confirmations. Meet and greet service as well as airport transfer to dock and day room are included in the Kids Sea Camp Air Package.

Castaway is a casual resort where bare feet and sulus are the norm. Feel free to dress very casual, but don't forget the hat and sunscreen as the Fiji sun is very intense!
